MT Tempera and Mastera are a Finnish Aframax crude oil tanker. Built at Sumitomo Heavy Industries in Japan in 2002, they were the first ship to utilize the double acting tanker (DAT) concept. Koto as a President of Ocean and Aerospace Research Institute had joined Double Acting Tanker (DAT) project. The ships ahve ability to run in ice mode and open water conditions, and also she was awarded the Ship Of The Year 2002 award by the Society of Naval Architects of Japan (SNAJ).

Ocari has qualified and experienced researchers in the field of oil and gas. Alhamdulillah, Koto as a President of Ocean and Aerospace Research Institute had joined oil and gas exploration under Exxonmobile project for RGX and AKG. Along with the operation of RGX and AKG, Qatar has become the largest LNG supplier in the world by increasing its annual production capacity from 30 MTPA to 77 MTPA.

On October, 28, 2014, Ocean and Aerospace Research Institute was conducted experiment of rounded-shape FPSO collaborated with Hiroshima University, National Research Institute of Fisheries Engineering (NRIFE), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Centre for Marine Technology and Engineering (CENTEC), Portugal. The experiment was carried at basin tank at National Research Institute of Fisheries Engineering (NRIFE), Hasaki, Kamisu-shi, Ibaraki, Japan.
Main objective of the experiment was to identify the performance of a rounded-shape FPSO in various sea state conditions regularly and irregularly, tandem and side by side arrangements and gap distances. The actua fullscale diamater of FPSO is 112 meter.

Ocean and Aerospace Research Institute collaborates with Universiti Teknologi Malaysia have developed an Integrated Navigation System between station recievers and databank in the server. All recorded data is sent to local and database server. Breakdown of SE system is shown figures.
The technology has been implemeneted in the strait of Batam-Singapore as the world’s most congested straits used for international shipping where located on the border among three countries of Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore region.
